House Calls

Common Problems

We see the following problems DAILY in our private consultations and house calls:

  • Housebreaking
  • Aggression towards humans
  • Aggression towards dogs
  • Fear based aggression
  • Dominance aggression
  • Phobias of all kinds
  • Fears of odd things that don’t seem scary to owners
  • Insecurity
  • Running away and bolting through doors
  • Separation anxiety
  • Food aggression
  • Toy aggression
  • Hyperactive dogs that don’t calm down easily
  • Difficulty walking the dog on a leash- to the point that the dog doesn’t get walked anymore
  • Jealousy of other dogs in the household
  • Jealousy of other humans in the household
  • Biting
  • Nipping
  • Jumping up on people when they come in the door
  • Not listening to your commands
  • Not coming when you call them
  • Fence fighting
  • Digging
  • Destroying household items and rooms
  • Inappropriate chewing
  • Marking behavior in the house (peeing where they should not be peeing!)
  • Barking, Barking, Barking (need we say more?)

Do any of these happen in your home? We specialize in teaching you how to work with your dog to very quickly get rid of these annoying and sometimes downright dangerous habits. We believe that the communication gap that often exists between owner and dog can be easily bridged, once the owner has made the decision to get serious help. Are you ready to have an easier, safer and happier life with your dog? Give us a call sooner rather than later— you will be happy that you did!

We Specialize in Solving Dog Behavior Problems!

Aggression and behavior problems are NOT treatable over the phone or via email. You need to have an experienced dog behavior and/or aggression professional come in person to evaluate and work with your family and dog(s). Don't delay in getting specialized help. Correcting aggressive or problem behavior is always much easier if addressed early instead of months or years later. If you think that it is too costly to hire a private trainer now, compare it to a potential lawsuit which could easily run into thousands of dollars.

House Calls

We have found that although many dogs may be obedient at dog daycare, in dog training classes, or elsewhere, the home environment is often where the worst problems are seen. This is why we find a simple 3 hour dog behavior rehabilitation house call to be highly effective. Our consultant will work with you to create a plan that works for you and your dog(s), and show you how to do it successfully right then and there.  You start taking the reins immediately.  We don't sell you a package of house calls. We take whatever tools you are using right now, teach you how to use them more effectively, and then follow up with you later by e-mail and over the phone. Sometimes we may suggest a different tool or technique that may fit your situation better. You will see a difference during those 3 hours.

Call us before bringing a "new" dog home so we can be there to help you 'Start Right'. Are you expecting a baby and worried that your dog may become jealous? Private Lessons

We now offer private dog training lessons either in your home, or at our new facility: The Dog House Inn of Gilroy.  Private lessons are 45 minutes at your home, or one hour at our facility.  We can work with you and your dog on a variety of issues, from basic obedience such as sit, down, come, stay and loose leash walking; to full off leash reliability.  We can also teach you how to properly and humanely use a variety of training tools such as the Gentle Leader, Halti, martingale, prong collar, or remote electronic training collar.
