Sherry Boyer Bio, continued....
Sherry was fortunate to be invited down to Cesar Millan's (National Geographic Channel's The Dog Whisperer) Dog Psychology Center in LA in the Spring of 2005 for one week, by Cesar's then executive assistant Gayle Thompson. It was a truly profound experience, and proved to be life changing. That week there were 35+ dogs interacting together in a balanced way, and several troubled dogs were there for rehab, learning how to be dogs again by the power of the pack. It was transformative, and what she learned that week has led to all of the pack rehabilitation work that we do. Read more about our thoughts on Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, here.
Sherry has studied extensively with Martin Deeley and his wife Pat Trichter. Martin is the Past President and current Executive Director of the IACP. She continues her studies with Martin and Pat as often as possible. Sherry is certified in the E-Touch Method (www.MartinDeeley.com), and will obtain Advanced Certification in October 2009.
Sherry is also proud to announce that she is a certified Force Free Method Trainer, studying with Marc Goldberg of www.chicagodogtrainer.com in 2007. The combination of the E-Touch Method and the Force Free method is very powerful, and enhances all aspects of the Dog Behavior Rehab system.
For over two years, Sherry was fortunate to intern under Kathy Kern of the Animal Fitness Center, learning in-depth her proprietary method of Water Exercise with Motion Massage™. Kathy is the pioneer of canine hydrotherapy and invented this method of weightless massage in motion in a warm pool. Sherry is one of a handful of people in the USA to carry on her powerful and profound work. During this time, she gained deep insight into many issues surrounding the owner/dog dynamic and how some of the inherent miscommunication can lead to true behavior problems with the dogs.
Sherry has continued her studies in canine bodywork with Maryna Ozuna and the Canine Kinaesthetics method, and is a certified Canine Kinaesthetics Practitioner
(www.dogbodycare.com) . This work is profound, and Sherry continues her studies with Ms. Ozuna as often as possible. Often, the correlation between a bad doggy attitude and discomfort and pain is undeniable. This work helps immensely in a dog being able to move forward successfully in their behavioral rehabilitation.
Since July of 2007, Sherry has been studying with Kayce Cover, founder of SynAlia Training Systems. Due to the amazing results she had using this system of communication with a super aggressive Board and Train dog, Sherry is continuing her studies with Kayce. Check out Kayce’s groundbreaking work on her website at www.synalia.com. Sherry: “When I saw a video of Kayce getting a rhinoceros to agree to have his abscessed horn flushed in approximately 15 minutes within meeting her, I knew I had to listen. We are going to have some fun with this!!”
Sherry has worked with and trained over a thousand dogs and knows that many behavior problems are easily corrected using the proper tools. She loves to see the transformation that takes place with dogs and their people when they begin to understand dog psychology.
Sherry is married to Hans, who is a self-professed “Cat Guy.” They have a balanced pack of 3 dogs (and a number of foster dogs at any given time) - Nala, Phoebe and Daisy Sue; and 5 cats- Girly Girl, Sascha, Emma, Bea and the feral mum of The Dog House Inn Boys, Kidam. Hans would like you to know that of all the cats in the “pride,” only Emma and Bea are qualified to train dogs.
